Dear All,
We are certainly looking forward to the bank holiday weekend and in traditional British style have lots of outside plans and it is meant to rain. Soggy sandwiches may well be on the cards.
Attached is the Families Newsletter written by Angus. Fiona has some fantastic activities for the weekend and they can be found here.
With marshmallows on my mind after hearing about them being roasted at the bush craft centre last weekend, I thought you may like an easy weekend treat recipe?
Rice Krispy Treats;
Ingredients
- 45g butter
- 300g marshmallows
- 180g sugared crispy cereal (why not try coco pops for an extra treat)
Method
- Adult: Grease a tray pan with a little oil. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over a low heat. Add the marshmallows and cook gently until they are completely melted. Stir constantly before taking the pan off the heat. Pour into a large clean bowl.
- Child: Add the cereal to the bowl and mix using a plastic spoon.
- All Together: Press the mixture into the tray. Flatten the top and allow to cool completely before the adult cuts them into squares.
Top tip – Stir through chocolate chips, sprinkles or dried fruit for an extra treat.
Have a great weekend.
